Known for being an award winning Senior Healthcare Executive, John Solheim has been variously recognized for his determination and hard work to bring about palpable organizational and cultural change to the healthcare landscape. A talented Chief Executive Officer, John Solheim has optimized his remarkable talent for bringing about significant change through aggressive financial turnaround, especially for struggling healthcare institutions in the rural regions. He served as the CEO of three struggling hospitals that experienced strong financial turnaround under his administration namely, the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minnesota, St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, Montana, and St. Mary’s Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
John Solheim also served as the Chief Executive Officer at Glendive Medical Center in Glendive, Montana. He was the Administrator at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Montana, and the Administrator at the Roosevelt Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home in Culbertson, Montana.
John Solheim was named to the “50 Top Rural Healthcare CEOs to Know” in 2015 and 2016 of Becker’s Hospital Review. He was also named to the 2016 Honor Roll of “100 Influential Healthcare Leaders in Minnesota” of Minnesota Physicians, and was accorded Montana's American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Distinguished Service Award and the Minnesota Hospital Association Community Benefit Award. The healthcare institutions John has headed have also been cited in a number of institutional recognition bodies, among them: Becker Healthcare’s “150 Great Places to Work”; Minneapolis Star Tribune’s “Top Work Places”; Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experiences; Healthgrades America's Best Hospital Women's Choice Award for Patient Experience and Obstetrics.
John Solheim attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he graduated with Cum Laude honors for his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communications and Business Administration/ Hospital Administration. Mr. Solheim successfully completed a Master of Health Administration degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN.
